From the Artist: From before time began, Jersus Christ was destined to step out of heaven and to walk this earth in flesh and blood. He lived a perfect, sinless life and imparted to us through his death, burial, and ressurrection from the dead “ THE GIFT “ of eternal life for all of humanity.
It was my desire, in sculpting The Gift, to touch the hearts of many with a striking image of what millions around the world will readily recognize as the moment our Lord Jesus Christ was laid upon his back, wounds open from a terrible scourging with a brutal whip, still bleeding, on a rough timber beam and had nails driven through his flesh toward completion of his mission as the sacrificial lamb.
