This painting depicts one of my favorite passages from the life of Christ. I wanted to give the viewer Peter`s point of view, as though we were struggling in the water with him. And like Peter, we come to the realization that Christ is there to save us, as He always is, suggested by the light breaking through the turbulent clouds above the rest of the disciples.

Gliding over the water,

Like a swan in a river

Reaching for the light of God,

The merciful forgiver



Walking towards Jesus,

An extremely great honor

To walk towards Jesus,

The Son of the Father



But then overwhelmed with confusion and doubt,

I hopelessly panicked, and started to drown

Then came Jesus, with a helping hand to spare,

I felt so foolish for doubting Him,

And I knew He really cared
