Never Alone by Ron DiCianni

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

Never Alone dramatically visualizes what we can expect based on the promise of God. At the center is a boy walking home from school, possibly through a shortcut that might be less than ideal. Although the world around him may be fraught with danger, he walks along the path unhurried and unafraid. If you look closely, you’ll see the reason for the boy’s confidence, a mighty angel God has assigned to watch over him in the shadows is more than enough to guard him against any trouble. How many of our children can benefit from Never Alone’s constant reminder not to fear because they are secure in God’s hands? Though we may not always be aware of God and His protection over us, He walks with us every step of the way.

ARTIST NOTE: Many years ago, I learned the lesson that God never leaves us. What happened was one of those miraculous incidents that I will never forget. While picking up my oldest son from school, my youngest son decided to run ahead of me. My little three year old was running full steam ahead between the parked cars when I saw he was on a collision course with a car coming from the side. As my heart skipped a beat, I watched Warren run right to the edge of inevitable disaster with all of his momentum pointing forward. What happened next has forever convinced me of the truth that we are never alone. As though a giant hand had descended right at the end of the row of cars, Warren’s next step forward literally bounced him backwards. He not only stopped, he actually bounced backwards! Warren was living proof of Psalm 34:7, which says, “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.”
